Monkeyboy page 6

Here's the sixth installment of Monkeyboy. I'm finally getting over my killer sinus infection...at least for now. I hope everone is enjoying this story. Even though while drawing this weeks installment, I felt like my head was going to implode, I still had a lot of fun drawing it. Let me know what you think of the story so far.

Ice T

I drew this with a wacom tablet for illustration Friday. The word was Tea, so I drew my favorite T of them all, Ice T. He is also one of the greatest actors of our time... Surviving the Game?

Monkeyboy pg5

Another page of Monkeyboy in the can. I've been really sick, but I hope this page hasn't suffered because of it. I'm going to go try and get some sleep now...I hope you all enjoy the new installment! Let me know what you think.

portraits

Here are a few portraits I've been working on. Portraits really aren't my thing, but these have been pretty fun to do. Anytime I get to actually apply paint to paper and not just use photoshop, it's a good thing. I'll try to update more often, so check back.

March Nick Mag

This is an illustration of a cat I did for the latest issue of Nickelodeon Magazine. All I did was paint the cat and someone else wrote it and laid it out. It's pretty cool to see the finished product. Kids are supposed to cut it out and glue it onto a real catfood can and fool thier parents. It's actually a special 3D issue, so it's worth checking out for some neat 3D comics.

Monkeyboy Action Figure

This is a 3 inch Monkeyboy action figure I made, a few months ago, with some help from my good friend Randy Regier. It's hand painted and made of latex over a wire armature. I was going to mass produce them, but I only ended up making this one prototype. The photos are a little rough. I was using the camera on my computer, but I hope you enjoy looking at monkeyboy in 3D!

Mustache Cup

This is a mustache cup my good friend Amiko made for me. She's a great artist and she knew I was having a problem drinking hot chocolate, so she made me this remarkable mug! It's one of my most prized possessions.

Nick Mag

This is a page of illustrations I did for Nickelodeon magazine. It had a contest in the back of the magazine for kids to create their own fantasy characters and submit them to the magazine. I also had a small illustration on that page as well. I'm looking forward to seeing what kind crazy things the kids come up with. I'm pretty sure they will be printed in an upcoming issue...The 3 winners get a video game system of their choice.

cover

I do a lot of illustrations for this magazine, but this was my first cover. I was pretty happy with how it turned out. It's drawn with a brush and ink and colored in photoshop

unused cover

They liked my first cover, so a couple of months later, they let me do another one. I was pretty disappointed when the company decided not to use it in the end. After I was paid, they decided it clashed with the article inside. This is what it would've looked like. It's drawn with brush and ink and colored in photoshop. The cakes in the background were done with my Wacom tablet. My friend, Cayce, who is the editor of the magazine, put the text on both of these.

Johnny Merrick

This is a drawing I did a few months ago of John Merrick the elephant man as a small child. I was going to do an entire series of side show freaks as children, but he was the only one I finished...maybe someday I'll get back to work on these. It's an ink and brush drawing, colored in photoshop.
