unused cover
They liked my first cover, so a couple of months later, they let me do another one. I was pretty disappointed when the company decided not to use it in the end. After I was paid, they decided it clashed with the article inside. This is what it would've looked like. It's drawn with brush and ink and colored in photoshop. The cakes in the background were done with my Wacom tablet. My friend, Cayce, who is the editor of the magazine, put the text on both of these.
